Discount department store Ross Dress for Less will open at the site of the former Gordmans retail chain in Coralville at 2515 Corridor Way.
It is unclear when the
store will open but the building is currently under construction.
The store will be divided into two spaces, with another tenant occupying the other space, according to Dave Johnson, Coralville community development director at an Iowa City Council work session in January. It is unknown who the other tenant is.
The Kroenke Group, a real estate and property management company in Missouri associated with the project, and Ross Dress for Less has not returned a request for comment.
Ross Dress for Less has locations in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Moline, Cedar Falls, Des Moines and Sioux Falls. It has approximately 1,693 locations and more than 100,000 employees in 40 states.
Gordmans
closed its stores in Coralville, Cedar Rapids and Davenport in the summer of 2020.
Elsewhere in Coralville, Bed Bath & Beyond
announced a store closure (in addition to locations in Cedar Rapids and Davenport), in February.
The CBJ was also the first to report national home goods and decor retailer Tuesday Morning
filed for bankruptcy and closed all of its Iowa locations, including stores in Coralville and Davenport.
