Broadband provider ImOn Communications reported a significant expansion of its fiber Internet network in 2024, along with contributions totaling more than $580,000 to nonprofits, community programs and initiatives across its six service areas.
According to a release, the company laid 265 miles of fiber across six service areas and invested $67 million in infrastructure in 2024.
More than half of the fiber expansion – 168 miles – took place in the Cedar Rapids metro and greater Dubuque area.
“The company also invested in new metro areas, including Siouxland, which encompasses the communities surrounding Sioux City. Much of this expansion took place in south Sioux City, marking ImOn’s first Nebraska network,” the release stated.
Additional fiber buildouts were completed in Clinton and Camanche, with Clinton’s network scheduled for completion in spring 2025. In Marshalltown, construction began in 2024, with service expected to start this spring.

“2024 was an incredibly pivotal year for us,” said Patrice Carroll, president and CEO of ImOn. “We continued our rapid growth, both in our own backyard and in new communities – even new states. I’m immensely proud of the entire ImOn team, and our contractors, partners, and vendors, whose hard work made this possible. We are also deeply grateful to our customers—their demand for fast, reliable, high-quality Internet is what inspires us to keep expanding our fiber network each year.”
ImOn’s 2025 plans include continued expansion, with a focus on underserved areas in the Midwest in need of enhanced, modernized Internet infrastructure.
Alongside infrastructure development, the company expanded its ImOn Gives program, which contributed $580,000 to more than 190 organizations. The program prioritizes funding in four areas: arts and culture, children and education, economic development, and social services.
“Whether it’s a new community we’re entering or one we’ve served for years, our goal is always the same: to get involved and make a positive impact beyond providing our Internet service,” said Ms. Carroll. “We’re honored to have been able to contribute over half a million dollars to our service areas last year, and I’m excited to see how we can continue supporting our communities in 2025.”
