UI Health Care-Scott Boulevard opened at 3640 Middlebury Road, just off Scott Boulevard in Iowa City, on April 3. The new location replaces UI Health Care-Southeast Iowa City, located at 1130 Scott Blvd.
Located in the Olde Towne Village — about a mile and a half north of UI Health Care-Southeast Iowa City — the new primary care clinic features 30 patient exam rooms (compared to 16 at the former location), on-site radiology and laboratory suites and the latest technologies and amenities.
“We will continue to provide the same great care for our patients, and we look forward to having more exam rooms, X-ray capabilities and a larger lab,” Katie Imborek, director of off-site primary care for UI Health Care, stated in a press release. “The on-stage and off-stage layout will improve communication between providers and nursing staff and ultimately lead to more efficient workflows.”
Upgraded conference rooms will be a benefit to both providers and the community, Dr. Imborek said.
“The conference rooms are fully integrated with the information technology needed to allow for virtual meetings, which will open up new possibilities for continuing education for all of our staff members. It also will provide opportunities for increased collaboration with other teams across UI Health Care and our community,” she said.
The new primary clinic will use the UI Health Care-Southeast Iowa City phone number: (319) 467-6789. The current team of family medicine providers and a general pediatric care provider will staff the new clinic as well.
