Iowa City Area Development (ICAD) has announced the departure of Tom Banta, ICAD and the Iowa City Area Business Partnership’s vice president and director of strategic growth.

The Business Partnership and ICAD boards of directors were merged officially on July 1, with Nancy Bird at the helm, as CEO and president.

“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of Tom Banta,” the announcement states. “While we are saddened to see him leave our organization, we are also immensely grateful for his invaluable contributions and leadership throughout the last eight years.”

During his time at both organizations, Mr. Banta’s expertise in strategic business development and relationship management has been instrumental in fostering key partnerships and driving growth, the announcement states.

Neither the announcement, nor Mr. Banta, have clarified what his future career plans are.

“As Tom moves on to pursue new endeavors, we want to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for his hard work, dedication, and the remarkable contributions he has made during his time here,” the announcement states.
