Greater CR Community Foundation approves nearly $4 million in grants

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation board of directors recently approved $3.79 million in grants to 239 nonprofit organizations. 

The awards include competitive Organizational Support Grants and Program Support Grants, as well as distributions from donor-advised, designated, scholarship and agency funds. 

The foundation works with donors and provides grants and support to nonprofits in pursuit of a vibrant and inclusive Linn County. The competitive grant programs receives support from gifts from donors who have entrusted the foundation to make grants that address ever-changing community needs and opportunities. The grant programs support efforts related to innovation, maintaining success and building capacity through a competitive grant process. 

The 2023 grant cycle saw over $781,568 in requests for competitive grants and was able to fund $486,668 — about 62% of the requested amount.
