GoDaddy has apparently instituted another round of layoffs, but a corporate spokesperson has declined to provide specifics on the situation.

“We recently restructured teams within two business units,” spokesperson Kristy Nicholas said in an email Oct. 19. “We are committed to supporting the transition of those departing our company and remain grateful for their many contributions.”

Ms. Nicholas declined to comment on other inquiries regarding the layoffs, including the number of affected employees in Cedar Rapids and company-wide, the layoff dates and the reason for the cuts.

GoDaddy has reduced its workforce several times in recent years, most recently in February, when the company confirmed it was laying off 8% of its global workforce.

That layoff amounted to about 530 employees across GoDaddy’s global workforce of just over 6,600, including 35 employees from its Cedar Rapids operations.

In September 2022, GoDaddy confirmed it had listed its Hiawatha office for sale and planned to move its operations to the Armstrong Centre in downtown Cedar Rapids, stating that with a large percentage of its employees working remotely since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, GoDaddy no longer needed the larger Hiawatha facility.

That move was completed earlier this year.

Ms. Nicholas also confirmed GoDaddy “will continue to have a presence in the area.”

The former GoDaddy office in Hiawatha remains on the market, with a listed asking price of $7.025 million.
