Design & Construction Week attracts record-breaking attendance

Over 200,000 housing and design professionals flocked to Las Vegas for the 10th annual Design & Construction Week (DCW) from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.

The week is the largest annual gathering of residential construction and design industry professionals. Attendees discover new products, hear from industry experts and network, meet and connect with their peers and industry experts.

The week is the co-location of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show and the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. There are also three co-dated industry shows hosted at the week: the National Hardware Show, The International Surfaces Event and the Las Vegas Winter Market.

The five trade shows gave DCW attendees an opportunity to visit five industry trade events. The 2023 show, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, boasted the highest attendance in DCW’s 10-year history. DCW’s total attendance consisted of nearly 70,000 International Builders’ Show attendees and 40,000 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show attendees.

“What an incredible way to celebrate 10 years of Design & Construction Week with this record attendance,” NAHB CEO Jerry Howard said in a release. “Walking the show floor and attending the education sessions and networking events, you could feel the energy and enthusiasm from exhibitors and attendees alike. We knew this would be the event of the year for the housing industry, but this has even surpassed our expectations.”

DCW attendees visited more than 1,800 exhibitors showcasing the latest housing products.

“It’s truly remarkable what we have accomplished these past 10 years in our industry,” Chief Executive Officer of the National Kitchen & Bath Association Bill Darcy said in a release. “Trade shows are back and this year in Las Vegas proves just that. You could feel the positive energy flow through the show floor.”

The National Hardware Show drew 17,000 attendees. The International Surfaces Event garnered a 25,000-person audience and the Las Vegas Market welcomed 50,000 viewers. It marked the largest gathering of housing professionals in the world.

Next year, DCW will return to Las Vegas from Feb. 27 through 29, 2024.
