Corridor employers collaborate on health care, workforce solutions

More than 30 Eastern Iowa employers in the Corridor met at TrueNorth Companies headquarters in Cedar Rapids with the Community Advantage Consortium to address issues surrounding health care and benefits.

The Community Advantage Consortium is a “collection of employers creating positive change for their organizations, employees and the community,” according to a press release.

“At Stutsman, we have always prided ourselves on thinking beyond the norms and being open to new ideas, programs, incentives in our attempt to control our controllable costs and outcomes,” said Scott Szymanek, CFO of Stutsman Companies, one of the executives who attended the meeting. “We are excited about the ability to join like-minded Corridor employers to join forces around collaboration, strategy, buying power, and incentives that we alone could not achieve or enjoy.”

In addition to health care collaborations, the consortium works to help local companies manage their workforce and help it grow.

Captive Paradigm Group is the company responsible for bringing together employers through the Community Advantage Consortium for the benefit of shared strategy and incentives.
