Cedar Rapids to host sustainable economy and transportation conference

First-ever event to include panel discussions, keynote speakers, vendor exhibits, electric vehicle ride and drive opportunity

Alliant Energy, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the City of Cedar Rapids are teaming up to bring Cedar Rapids area residents and businesses a new, two-day event focused on sustainable economy and transportation opportunities and solutions.

The Sustainable Economy and Transportation Conference, set for May 24-25 at the Cedar Rapids Public LIbrary, will host representatives from businesses, organizations and communities from across the state of Iowa and beyond. Attendees can participate in panel sessions, hear from and network with industry experts, and interact with exhibitors to learn more about business sustainability.

Attendees will also have access to an electric vehicle display and Ride & Drive opportunity at Greene Square.

Sustainable Transportation Day will be held Tuesday, May 24 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Sustainable Economy Day is set for Wednesday, May 25 from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The conference is recommended for residents and businesses interested in innovation and sustainability..
