The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance (EA) and Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD Group) are partnering on a commercial real estate property data software called REsimplifi.

REsimplifi is a data provider that includes web-based commercial real estate property data. The service includes ongoing data management, as long as the agreement is in place.

REsimplifi will work with their current software, Location One Information Systems (LOIS), which is used by the State of Iowa, local utilities, and economic development groups around the country for economic development real estate listing management.

Investing in REsimplifi will make LOIS a robust commercial real estate software resource for site selectors and companies searching for the ideal building or site to locate or expand their business, the two development groups said in a release. An accurate and reliable regional database of available properties gives the EA and ICAD more visibility and credibility with potential investors in the region.

While LOIS is a powerful tool, it needs additional information to maximize its potential.

“LOIS is only useful as the data in it,” said Laura Thomas, research and analytics specialist at the Economic Alliance. “Being able to coordinate regionally with an upgrade to this business attraction tool is something that we are very proud of. We are excited to proudly promote this new and improved data source to any companies looking to expand their business in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids region.”

The EA and ICAD believe that joining forces on this software was not only important for economic development in the area, but for the importance of regional partnership.

“This tool will be a force multiplier for site selection and marketing our region,” said Austin Korns, Director of Business Development at ICAD Group. “It made sense to work with our regional partners on this effort both to combine resources and use a unified voice for economic development outreach.”

Economic development data available through REsimplifi will include:

  • Physical locations with transaction status (for sale, for lease, for sale & lease);
  • Physical address of properties available for sale or lease;
  • Unique log-in and license to resimplifi.com for parcel data including ownership information and parcel details for each EDO member; and
  • Active Commercial Real Estate Company and Brokerage Profiles Monthly update summary and overview of commercial real estate property listings broken down by new listings and removed (expired/transacted) listings.

REsimplifi launched in August and will be used by the EA, ICAD, and brokers throughout the region.
