Burlington, an off-price department store retailer with more than 1,000 stores in 40 states and Puerto Rico, is moving into the space formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond at 2515 Corridor Way, Suite 7, in Coralville.
The Coralville Bed Bath & Beyond is one of 150 closures nationwide announced late last week, according to a regulatory filing on Feb. 5. The giant retailer will be closing stores in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, Davenport and Sioux City.
Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, sells discounted brand name shoes and clothing, baby furniture and accessories. The company also operates under the names MJM Designers Shoes, Cohoes Fashions, and the Super Baby Depot. In 2006, Bain Capital acquired the company for $2.06 billion.
Burlington will open its store May 10, according to its website.
