Performance Health & Fitness is a fitness center and physical therapy provider with locations in Cedar Rapids, Coralville and Kalona. The company offers personal training, massage therapy, corporate wellness, active aging and children’s programs.
The company formed in 1999 in the founders’ basement to provide physical therapy, athletic training and sports performance-enhancement training services.
“Through hard work and dedicated service, Performance employees have been able to demonstrate phenomenal growth,” Shane Starke, Performance’s spokesman, stated in an email. “In 2008, Performance opened a new state-of-the-art facility in Coralville bringing Performance Therapies together with Performance Health & Fitness.”
According to Mr. Starke, the company is a cool place to work because it offers free gym membership to employees, flexible schedules, employee parties and frequent outings, discounted personal training, educational opportunities for professional growth and a team atmosphere.
