Spectra, operators of Xtream Arena and GreenState Family Fieldhouse on behalf of ArenaCo, announces the ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebrations of Xtream Arena and GreenState Family Fieldhouse in Coralville from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 17. An additional community open house is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. Sept. 20.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony and short program will take place outside at the main entrance plaza to Xtream Arena at 4 p.m. Following the ribbon cutting guests are invited inside for the chance to walk around and visit a suite, see the Gerdin Family Club Room, tour locker rooms and get an up-close look at other areas not accessible during events. Teams and clubs using the arena throughout the year will be practicing or demonstrating the variety of activities that can be hosted in the facility.

Xtream Arena will have the latest technology available for many of its systems including two state-of-the-art video boards on the north and south walls, a ribbon board around the seating bowl, premium distributed audio system and colored LED sports lighting will allow for improved event presentation.

We are thrilled, after years of planning, to see Xtream Arena and GreenState Family Fieldhouse get the final touches these last few weeks,” Coralville Mayor John Lundell stated in a release, “As we’ve said before this multipurpose facility is going to be an extraordinary asset to the city of Coralville and a wonderful addition to the Iowa River Landing. We know opening a facility like this during these times will be challenging but we are taking all the precautions necessary for the community to feel safe while taking in this incredible venue.”

Following local and state guidelines, guests are asked to comply with the posted signage and tour route throughout the facility and follow these guidelines:

• Masks are required to be worn at all times while inside the venue
• Social distance by staying at least six feet away from guests not in your party
• Do not enter the venue if you are feeling sick or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough and shortness of breath), have tested positive for COVID-19 or were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 or someone awaiting a COVID-19 test result or if government mandates require that you be in quarantine because of recent international or domestic travel.
