St. Luke’s Hospital opens Spinal Cord Injury Clinic

St. Luke’s Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) has opened a Spinal Cord Injury Clinic (SCI), building upon its 50-year history of treating all levels and severity of nontraumatic and traumatic spinal cord injuries (SCIs).

Elissa Zakrasek will lead the new St. Luke’s SCI Clinic, bringing her extensive experience working with SCI rehabilitation to the hospital.

The clinic will be dedicated solely to the holistic care of spinal cord injuries and diseases, with the purpose to assist patients in addressing the difficulties associated with SCI and enhancing their overall quality of life. The following services are Included in the SCI’s outpatient clinic:

Acute and chronic management of spinal cord injuries
Functional electrical stimulation
Neurogenic bladder and bowel management
Sexuality and sexual health
Spasticity management
Wheelchair and seating evaluation
Wound care
