The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois (RMHC-EIWI) has named Shannon Greene as the organization’s new executive director.

Ms. Greene has served as RMHC-EIWI’s operations director since 2016, and has been serving as interim executive director since Barbara Werning’s resignation in late June to take another position in Cedar Rapids.

Before that, she served as community project manager for the Blue Zones Project of Iowa City and the vice president for Prelude Behavioral Services.

“I am proud to be a part of RMHC-EIWI and its strong history of caring for families with sick children,” Ms. Greene said in a release. “This is an amazing organization, and this is an exciting time for us. We’re celebrating our 35th anniversary, upgrading our facilities and continuing to serve families through this pandemic. I look forward to this opportunity to lead as we continue to grow our programs and improve our services.”

RMHC-EIWI provides housing, food, laundry, and support through its two core programs: the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City and the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. CBJ
