The Prospect Meadows sports complex in Marion is on track to have its busiest summer season since opening in June 2019.
According to a press release from Prospect Meadows, partnerships with local teams, baseball scouting service Perfect Game, and the United States Speciality Sports Association have ensured that the complex keeps its attendance up throughout the week. In 2022, the sports complex generated over $11 million of economic impact for the region.
On June 20-24, Prospect Meadows and Perfect Game will have over 120 baseball teams participating in the PG Midwest World Series for 16U and 17U teams. From June 27 to July 1 the complex will see the PG WWBA North Championship for 14U and 15U teams, which will come from 10 U.S. states and two teams from Ontario, Canada.
“We are thrilled to continue to grow the number of teams, both local and nonlocal, that come to Prospect Meadows,” says Prospect Meadows CEO Jack Roeder said in the release. “There will be a lot of people from outside the state using hotels, restaurants, and other amenities that contribute to economic vitality for our area.”
The complex expects the busy season to continue throughout July. From July 25-29 another 120+ team tournament is scheduled with Perfect Game at Prospect Meadows.
