Beginning Tuesday, July 14, 2026, all UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital MedLabs locations will offer walk-in laboratory services, allowing patients to complete physician-ordered lab work without an appointment.
Patients needing routine blood work, preventive screenings or follow-up testing will be able to visit any MedLabs location during regular business hours with a laboratory order from their health care provider. Patients who prefer to schedule a visit may continue to do so online, by text or by phone.
“By offering walk-in laboratory services, we’re giving patients greater flexibility to complete the testing their providers have ordered when it’s most convenient for them,” said Mark Willis, UnityPoint Health – Cedar Rapids vice president of operations, in a statement.
MedLabs offers outpatient laboratory services at four locations throughout the Cedar Rapids metro area, including downtown Cedar Rapids, southwest Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and Marion. Laboratory professionals at these locations perform diagnostic tests that help providers detect, diagnose and monitor medical conditions.
Patients should bring a valid photo ID, insurance card and a laboratory order from their health care provider if it has not already been submitted electronically.
