NewBo City Market has announced that it will be hosting its first “Market by Moonlight” event Aug. 9, 2023. This outdoor farm-to-table dinner will feature a curated menu highlighting the businesses currently housed in the nonprofit business incubator.

According to a news release sent by the organization, locally-sourced meats and produce from local farmers will be used to create the dishes on the menu. Optional drink pairings will be available. Attendees will also experience live music by the Cedar Rapids Community Orchestra.

Highlights from the menu include options such as a spanish paella, wagyu meatballs, rolled pork stuffed with fresh herbs and roasted lamb chops with smoked chipotle butter.

This event will be a fundraiser for the NewBo City Market, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Each ticket purchased includes a $50 tax-deductible donation.

“Incubating local food systems is vital for building sustainable communities. By supporting local farmers and entrepreneurs, we create a resilient ecosystem that fosters economic growth, preserves culture, and promotes environmental stewardship. Market by Moonlight celebrates our community’s talents, nurturing a thriving local food economy that nourishes both body and soul,” said Sarah Blais, senior director of market operations, in the release.

Tickets for the dinner are available now.
