Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids has announced that the Baggot St. Bistro is now offering online food ordering and delivery directly to the hospital’s surgery waiting room, located on the second floor.
This new service, available from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on weekdays, is designed to make it easy for guests to order food without leaving the surgery waiting room.
According to a release, guests can place orders through a kiosk situated just inside the waiting room. Once an order is placed, food items will be delivered to the same area.
The new Mercy food delivery service is designed to provide comfort and ease for guests while their friends or family members are in surgery. By using the online ordering system, guests can:
- Stay in the surgery waiting room, close to their loved ones.
- Be readily available when surgeons or hospital staff provide updates on the surgical procedure.
- Avoid the need for guests to navigate to the cafeteria, allowing them to remain focused on their friends and family members.
“At Mercy, the comfort and convenience of our guests are top priorities,” said Sara Eichenberger, Mercy’s director of food and nutrition Services. “We understand that waiting for a loved one in surgery can be a stressful experience. By offering food delivery directly to the surgery waiting room, we hope to make this time as comfortable as possible for our guests.”
