Mercy Medical Center earns top state ranking in CHIME Digital Health recognition

Mercy Medical Center has achieved level 9 certification in the 2024 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition program, marking it as Iowa’s top-ranking hospital for healthcare technology in both acute and ambulatory care.

This recognition, awarded by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), highlights Mercy’s integration of advanced digital tools in clinical and business settings aimed at enhancing patient care and community health, according to a news release.

This is the 17th time since 2006 that Mercy Medical Center has received Most Wired recognition. CHIME’s annual survey evaluates how effectively healthcare organizations adopt and incorporate technology across various domains, including analytics, data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. Among more than 48,000 surveyed organizations, Mercy Medical Center was one of the select few to achieve a Level 9 certification.

“We are extremely proud of both our IT and hospital care delivery teams for their commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care,” said Jeff Cash, Mercy’s senior vice president and chief information officer. “Our investments in advanced technologies are crucial to improving patient care, quality, and access to data.
