Muscatine-based Kent Corporation has been named as a 2020 U.S. Best Managed Company, an exclusive honor from Deloitte Private and the Wall Street Journal recognizing private-company success based on strategy, execution, culture and financials.
Kent was one of 27 private companies selected across the United States, and the only one in Iowa. It is a diversified, family-owned corporation with subsidiaries involved in corn wet milling, and the production of animal feed, food, beverage and pet products. Founded in 1927, it now counts operations in 20 states and seven countries.
“We recognize the significance of this award; nearly 100 years ago my grandfather started this company by providing enduring value to his customers,” said Chairman and CEO Gage Kent in a release. “A century later, the list of products have changed and grown, but our company remains strong, ever expanding and innovative.”
Kent joins a global community of more than 1,000 leading private companies recognized by the program. This marks the first year for the Best Managed Companies in the United States, however.
