Johnson County accepting Economic Development, Quality of Life grant applications

$300,000 allocated this year for Economic Development and Quality of Life grants

Applications are open for Economic Development and Quality of Life grants from the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

Annually, as part of the budgeting process, the Board of Supervisors designates funds to support economic development in Johnson County and improve the residents’ quality of life. For Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025), the Board has allocated a total of $300,000 for these grant opportunities combined.

This year’s Economic Development grants aim to provide operational assistance for organizations that promote equity, local entrepreneurship, and measurable impacts. The Quality of Life grants offer either operational assistance to organizations prioritizing sustainability and conservation in their mission, or offer program support to initiatives fostering sustainability and conservation. Requests for funding related to construction, capital, or infrastructure expenses will not be considered, according to the Board of Supervisors web page.

Qualified organizations must operate primarily in Johnson County and have 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 tax status.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to participate in an informational webinar scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 5. The webinar will be recorded for those unable to attend. Applications can be accessed through Johnson County’s online grant portal.
