GreatAmerica to host Pack Ride in Cedar Rapids Aug. 25

Mayor to help host riders; event raises awareness for veterans, funds for multiple charities

GreatAmerica Financial Services Corporation, based in Cedar Rapids, will host the Patriots Pack, a group of office technology industry executives from across the nation, on Friday, Aug. 25 at 3:30 p.m. as they conclude the ninth annual Pack Ride.

The Patriots Pack’s Pack Ride is a multi-state motorcycle ride to raise money primarily for The Jillian Fund, a nonprofit providing financial and emotional support to parents of children with terminal illness, while raising awareness for U.S. veterans.

“We are excited to welcome The Pack Ride to GreatAmerica and our Cedar Rapids community,” GreatAmerica executive chairman Tony Golobic said in a release. “Supporting U.S. veterans is near and dear to our hearts at GreatAmerica, with several GreatAmerica team members being veterans, including myself. We are also honored to support the good work of the Jillian Fund, as well as local charities including the Freedom Foundation and Honor and Respect.”

The 15 or so motorcycle riders and their entourage will ride for six days, make nearly a dozen stops at various office technology companies throughout the Midwest and make their final stop at GreatAmerica Financial Services’ headquarters in downtown Cedar Rapids. They are scheduled to arrive in the GreatAmerica north parking lot at approximately 3:30 p.m. where festivities will start with a meet and greet, followed by a donation ceremony.
