Get to know 2024’s Women of Influence

Women of Influence 2024, CBJ

This year, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Corridor Business Journal and its Women of Influence awards.

Nearly 200 women have been honored throughout this award’s history, with the first class being honored in 2004.

The Women of Influence awards recognize women who have made a difference in the Corridor as role models and leaders in their fields and communities. Nominated by those who have witnessed their impact first-hand, and chosen by a committee of previous winners, this year’s Women of Influence honorees are just as inspiring as their many predecessors.

This year’s honorees seem especially keen to inspire others as they reach for their own goals.

“I always look to put people in positions to grow and where they can be their personal best,” said Christine Vorhies, head of operations at Transamerica. “It takes personal commitment for people to develop the right level of competency for any position, and I believe helping people be accountable to create that competency is important in their development and career.”

In addition to recognizing the 10 Women of Influence, the CBJ is also recognizing two Emerging Women of Influence this year. Typically, this award identifies one up-and-coming female leader who has achieved career success and demonstrated their potential for growth.

Both of this year’s Emerging Women of Influence are incredibly passionate and talented individuals. Caitlin Clark and Samantha Rogers are just starting their careers, both poised to make an incredible impact on their respective fields in the near future.

The CBJ will host the 2024 Women of Influence 20 Year Gala from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center in Cedar Rapids. Tickets are still available to this event, which includes networking, dinner and remarks from the winners.
