What was your first job? Working at a day care.
Best advice you ever received? Always try to look at the bigger picture or the problem from a different perspective.
What do you consider your biggest break so far? I won a car in the Mazda Heroes Car Giveaway. My brother nominated me for the work I did during COVID-19 and the derecho.
What would most people be surprised to learn about you? That I can be pretty handy. Rehabbing my home has been a fun challenge, but I really enjoy wood working and rehabbing vintage furniture.
What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why? Workforce shortage. Oh boy, where do you start? Is there a character limit on this form?
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support? I would split it between medical research of diseases that have affected loved ones and local nonprofits that are affiliated with the work I do in Marion, such as Marion Cares, the Marion Public Library and others.
What are your passions outside of the workplace? My main passion over the past three years has been rehabbing my 1939 house pre- and post-derecho.
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace? Their preferred method of communication might not be the same as yours. This applies to all generations.
What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50? I’d like to feel accomplished in my career and have gained a broad knowledge base to work in a consulting role so I can share that knowledge with others.
