Better Together 2030 (BT2030) will be celebrating the progress of the All In Vision Plan with the third annual Excellence in Action Awards Jan. 30.
Held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Iowa City University Heights, 901 Melrose Ave. in Iowa City, the celebration will also honor individuals and groups who have made a positive impact on the region.
“Each year, this event shines a spotlight on the people and projects making Johnson County a more connected, inclusive, and thriving community,” said Cady Gerlach, executive director of Better Together 2030. “Their efforts reflect a shared commitment to our collective future.”
The event will spotlight accomplishments spanning five cornerstone pillars of the All In Vision Plan: the natural environment, vibrant neighborhoods, regional mobility, economic inclusivity, and human services innovation.
In a nod to the program’s guiding principles – collaboration, representative leadership, and a growth mindset – the evening will also feature the Tom Cilek Sizzle Awards and the Catalyst Award.
Award categories include:
- Bravo Awards, which celebrate exceptional contributions across the five pillars of the All In Vision Plan.
- Tom Cilek Sizzle Awards honor individuals who spark transformative change in their communities.
- Catalyst Award for significant, community-impacting projects.
New this year is the Inspire Award, which spotlights educators and leaders who ignite a passion for learning and foster innovation in inclusive, forward-looking educational communities; and the Childcare Solution’s Early Childhood Innovation Award , which applauds childcare providers who tackle the challenges of accessibility and quality through creative and collaborative solutions.
