Applications to be selected as a Buy Give Grow business are now open and can be found on the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance website. Businesses should choose one of three categories listed and submit their application for the chance to be featured this year. Applications will close Sept. 23.
This support-local initiative encourages support of the local community businesses and organizations this holiday season and beyond. Each dollar spent locally returns an average of three times more to the community than buying elsewhere.
The Economic Alliance’s buy local initiative launched in fall 2018 and has been going strong as it enters its 5th year, bringing to center stage 15 locally owned businesses, nonprofits and business collaborations that drive our economy.
“Supporting local is important now more than ever,” Doug Neumann, executive director at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, stated in a news release. “While we promote ‘buy local’ all year long, we want to remind the community of all the amazing businesses in this area that can provide wonderful products or services leading up to and during the big holiday season.”
Buy Give Grow, presented by GreenState Credit Union, offers the selected businesses exposure on social media platforms and websites – as well as television, newspaper and radio marketing opportunities.
