The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance will host its annual “Good Morning Cedar Rapids” business breakfast Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cedar Rapids.
The event, set for 7-9:30 a.m., will present BRAVO awards to three businesses and Community Spotlight awards to three nonprofit organizations. Clare Duffy and Eric Hanson of KZIA Z102.9/Morning Scramble will host.
The ticket purchase deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 5.
BRAVO Award recipients:
Fun Not Fancy Restaurant Group operates Bricks Bar & Grill, Taco Gato, LP Street Food, Cliff’s Dive Bar & Grill, Moco Game Room & Hot Dog Bar, The Hip-Stir and Sacred Cow in Cedar Rapids and Marion.
JRS Pharma manufactures pharmaceutical excipients in Cedar Rapids. The company has operated for more than 145 years.
SwineTech Inc., headquartered in Cedar Rapids, develops technology for pork producers. Matthew Rooda, Abraham Espinoza and John Rourke founded the company.
Community Spotlight recipients:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids & East Central Iowa provides youth mentoring programs in Linn, Benton and Jones counties. The organization has operated for nearly 50 years.
Horizons offers Meals on Wheels, a Financial Wellness Center and Neighborhood Transportation Service across Eastern Iowa. The organization has served the region for more than 60 years.
Theatre Cedar Rapids produces theatrical performances and educational programming from the Iowa Theatre Building in downtown Cedar Rapids. The organization has operated for nearly a century.
