The innovative coworkers and collaborative culture make Vault Coworking & Collaboration Space a cool place to work.

“The diversity of the type of work the people here do makes Vault truly unique,” said Kris Fassler, Vault’s operations director.

Vault has four employees and more than 30 coworkers. The company was founded in 2011 and is located at 222 Third St. SE, on the fifth floor of Guaranty Bank in downtown Cedar Rapids.

“The culture is very collaborative, everyone is always willing to lend time, expertise or advice to help someone else out,” Mr. Fassler said.
Vault members are entrepreneurs, creatives, freelancers and startup companies who work independently and enjoy the community and synergy that comes from sharing office space with other creative people.

“The future is bright, we see Vault being an invaluable resource for anyone in the Corridor wanting to start or grow a business,” he said.
Coworking is a new style of work, which involves a shared working environment, yet independent activity. Unlike in a typical office environment, coworkers are usually not employed by the same company.

“Our company is made up of people who run their own companies. We collaborate. We share resources, network, play foosball, drink coffee, share thoughts, create new business ventures and partnerships, teach others, and ultimately we all support each other. We are able to grow our own business only because of the success of working alongside each other and having the support necessary to do so,” one employee stated in their survey response.

An open floorplan of desks, offices and meeting rooms are available to rent by the day or by the month. Members can bring their laptop and to-do list and Vault will provide the rest: big desks, comfortable chairs, wireless Internet, copiers and printers.

“Probably one of the most empowering and innovative places I have ever been. People collaborate everyday and encourage everyone to succeed. We are constantly looking to create and host events that encourage people to share their knowledge and improve the community,” another employee stated in the survey.

Vault often hosts free coworking Wednesdays and hosts entrepreneurial networking events such as 1 Million Cups.
