West Bank recognized as a Top 20 bank by American Banker

West Bank, a subsidiary of West Bancorporation, Inc., has been named one of the nation’s Top 20 banks in the prestigious annual rankings by American Banker Magazine.

American Banker’s assessment evaluates public and private banks, focusing on those with assets ranging from $2 billion to $10 billion. This year’s ranking, based on the 3-year average return on equity as of Dec. 31, 2022, has positioned West Bank at 18th place. West Bank was the sole Iowa bank to be featured in the Top 20 list.

This latest recognition from American Banker adds to West Bank’s growing list of national accolades. The bank also has been recognized by industry analysts Raymond James and S&P Global Market Intelligence as one of America’s top performing banks, securing a position in the top 20 across all three lists.

“We are immensely proud to secure a place among the nation’s top performing banks. We are a reflection of our customers and the communities we serve,” said Dave Nelson, West Bank CEO, in a news release.

Headquartered in West Des Moines, West Bank has a Coralville office.
