UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital was named to the Becker’s Hospital Review “Great Hospitals in America” list on June 29.
St. Luke’s is one of only two Iowa hospitals on the list and the only hospital in Cedar Rapids.
According to Becker’s, “these hospitals are renowned for clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research and education and patient satisfaction. Top ranking and award agencies have recognized these hospitals for their leadership in the industry and their excellence in several specialties. Hospitals acknowledged on this list are leaders who contribute to breakthroughs and discoveries that impact the future of medicine. Their expertise benefits not only the communities they serve, but also the healthcare field as a whole.”
In the publication, Becker’s reported St. Luke’s has been bettering its community since it opened more than 140 years ago. The review pointed to the hospital’s national recognition for providing quality healthcare at affordable costs.
“This is an honor to make this list and be recognized along with other prestigious hospitals,” St. Luke’s Hospital president and CEO Michelle Niermann said in a statement. “We have an amazing team of providers, nurses, team members, volunteers and board members. I am proud of our team and thrilled to see them recognized nationally for their exceptional care.”
Becker’s noted the hospital’s commitment to continuously improving the cardiovascular health of patients with its $25 million expansion at the Nassif Heart and Vascular Center.
