The Mercy Medical Center Foundation has announced the upcoming retirement of its president, Lorrie Erusha, who will step down in August 2025 after five years in the role.
Ms. Erusha joined the foundation in April 2020 following an extensive search. During her tenure, she played a key role in multiple fundraising and development efforts, including the establishment of the Jewel & Jim Plumb Heart Center at Mercy, the development of HallMar Village and The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia, and the renovation of the downtown Emergency Department.
Under Ms. Erusha’s leadership, the foundation has seen significant growth, with the total number of donors increasing by 34%, including an 18.5% rise in the past year alone. Additionally, the foundation’s endowed assets have reached $136 million, supporting the mission and initiatives of Mercy Medical Center.
Mercy Medical Center President and CEO Dr. Timothy Quinn acknowledged Ms. Erusha’s contributions, stating that her leadership has strengthened the organization’s mission and enhanced its ability to serve the community.
“Lorrie’s impact on Mercy and the foundation has been immeasurable,” Quinn said. “Her commitment to fostering relationships, achieving fundraising milestones, and ensuring the success of important initiatives has strengthened our mission and enriched the lives of those we serve. While we will miss her leadership, we are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind.”
As she prepares for retirement, Ms. Erusha will continue focusing on the foundation’s fundraising goals and ongoing initiatives.
“Serving the mission of Mercy has been a profound privilege,” Ms. Erusha said. “I am deeply honored to have worked alongside such an exceptional foundation board and team and to have had the opportunity to support initiatives that make a real difference in our community. I know Mercy will continue to see remarkable growth and success.”
To ensure a smooth transition, the foundation has partnered with executive search firm The Overture Group to identify a successor. A search committee has been formed to lead the hiring process.
