The Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County will accept applications through Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. for its summer funding round, which supports the creation and preservation of housing for low-income residents in Johnson County.

The Ron Mavrias Summer funding round will make up to $581,500 available. Mr. Mavrias served as an officer on the Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County’s Board of Directors for many years prior to his death.

Funding decisions are expected by Aug. 28.

Application materials, including funding amounts based on number of bedrooms, current income limits, an application guidance document and a two-part application in PDF and Excel formats, are available at https://www.htfjc.org/revolving-loan-program. Applicants must also submit an Attachment Packet with their application.

The organization recommends downloading the PDF application, saving it, then reopening it in Adobe Acrobat for better formatting. Applicants who need help with the PDF portion can contact the Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County directly.

As outlined on the website and in the guidance document, applicants are asked to discuss proposed applications with Executive Director Ellen McCabe before proceeding.

The application format allows applicants to have a draft reviewed a few days ahead of the deadline if they want feedback before official submission.

Organizers said there are minimal changes to the application content, including questions on the PDF document and tables on two tabs in Part 2 of the Excel form. There are limits on the amount of information that can be entered for each question, and applicants should not create or add attachments for narrative questions. Returning applicants may need to shorten prior responses, such as those about an organization’s history, to fit the space provided.

In addition to emailing the completed PDF and Excel forms, applicants should compile requested supporting documents into a single Attachment Packet. A checklist near the end of the PDF application is intended to help applicants assemble the packet. If the Attachment Packet is too large to email, applicants are asked to send their financial report as a separate attachment.

The Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County is also offering a Funding 101 session via Zoom, including a new optional segment on the Proforma component of the application, upon request. Those interested can email to schedule a session.

Questions can be directed to Ms. McCabe at [email protected].
