The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia, in collaboration with the Worldmaker Resilience Institute, will host a forum for veterans, caregivers and service providers from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The event, designed to inspire, empower, and provide resources to veterans and their support networks, will take place at 9000 C Ave. NE in Cedar Rapids.
The forum is free and open to veterans, caregivers, service providers and members of the community who would like to contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding veterans’ needs.
Lt. Gen. Jeff Buchanan, U.S. Army (Ret.) and Worldmaker board member, will serve as the special guest speaker, presenting “True Heroes,” an inspiring tribute to the bravery and contributions of veterans.
Additional highlights include an interactive discussion and Q&A session led by a panel of experts focused on resources for veterans receiving or providing care, as well as their support networks. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in this discussion, share insights and offer input on pressing issues affecting the veteran community.
Featured panelists for the event include:
- Vincent Eure, Director, Integrated Response Office, Joint Base Andrews
- Kirk Ferguson, Special Operations Army Medic (Ret.) and Worldmaker Board Member
- Kathy Good, MSW, Senior Director & Co-Founder, DeWolf Innovation Center, Cedar Rapids, IA

Event facilitators are Dr. Mollie Marti, CEO of Worldmaker, and Tim Charles, retired immediate past CEO at Mercy Medical Center.
Following the discussion, attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments and continue connecting with fellow veterans, caregivers and community members.
The forum is free of charge, but registration is encouraged to ensure resources and materials are available for all participants. RSVP by November 15 via email at [email protected].
