Calyx Creek Lavender & Lodging has broken ground on two treehouse accommodations that the business says will be Iowa’s largest and most architecturally distinctive when they open in May 2026.

The additions will expand Calyx Creek’s lodging portfolio to four treehouses on its 200-acre organic lavender farm. Each treehouse features three bedrooms and sleeps eight guests.

The A-frame structure will include floor-to-ceiling windows and sits 40 feet above ground with views of the surrounding forest and lavender fields. The hexagon design will center on a spiral staircase connecting the forest floor to the canopy and includes a private sauna.

“These aren’t just beautiful spaces – they’re transformative ones,” said Taylor Getting, who co-owns the business with his wife, Stephanie. “Our guests will literally escape the everyday. Whether it’s a family getaway, a corporate retreat, or a wellness weekend with friends, this is about reconnecting – with each other, with agriculture, and yourself.”

Calyx Creek cultivates more than 8,000 lavender plants across eight varieties and hosts seasonal events, sells artisan products and offers culinary experiences. The farm has developed a regional following as an Airbnb destination.

“Lavender is already something unique and powerful,” Mr. Getting said. “Now guests can experience it from 40 feet up. This is a completely new way to explore Iowa’s natural beauty and agricultural heritage.”
