Jefferson Lines expands Cedar Rapids bus service to Midwest cities

    Jefferson Lines, an intercity bus carrier serving the Midwest, will launch new service connecting Cedar Rapids to several Iowa cities as well as Chicago and Minneapolis beginning June 30.

    Departures will operate from the Eastern Iowa Airport. The route will serve Iowa City, Williamsburg, Des Moines, Waterloo, Dubuque, Mason City and Clear Lake in addition to the out-of-state destinations. The company said the Cedar Rapids connections will link to its broader national network, with onward service available to Washington, D.C., New York City, Baltimore and other eastern cities.

    Fares from Cedar Rapids to Chicago start at $44. The company said amenities on board include complimentary Wi-Fi, a real-time bus tracker and a mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

    Founded in 1919, Jefferson Lines operates a 17-state network connecting to more than 2,000 destinations. Tickets and schedule information are available at jeffersonlines.com.
