Melissa Winter will become the next president of UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation, the organization announced in a news release. She takes over the role May 11.

Ms. Winter brings more than two decades of experience in wealth management and organizational leadership to the position. She most recently served as senior vice president of wealth management at GreenState Credit Union and spent more than 20 years with U.S. Bank prior to that, holding senior roles including division wealth manager and regional wealth manager.

According to a news release, she holds a bachelor of science in management from the University of Northern Iowa and is active in the Cedar Rapids community, currently serving as board chair for both Junior Achievement and United Way.

Ms. Winter succeeds Mary Klinger, who announced her retirement earlier this year after more than 15 years with the foundation. During Ms. Klinger’s tenure, the foundation raised more than $48 million, with $44 million transferred directly to St. Luke’s Hospital to support operations and capital projects. Ms. Klinger also led several capital campaigns that the foundation credited with enhancing patient care and hospital facilities.

The foundation did not disclose details of its search process.
