TLC Associates certified as a veteran-owned business

Cedar Rapids-based TLC Associates has been certified as a veteran-owned business (VOB) by the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC), thanks to the company’s focus on hiring military veterans.

Founded by Thomas Cardella, a military veteran, TLC Associates operates contact centers throughout the United States and Dominican Republic. Since the company’s inception, there has been a focus on supporting charitable causes that help the military.

The certification achievement qualifies TLC Associates as a diverse supplier, said Mr. Cardella in a press release.

“We are thrilled to have been named a recipient of this distinguished honor,” he said. “The life lessons that serving in the military taught me have been key to my leadership style in each of my companies.”

Defined by the U.S. Department of Commerce as “a proactive business program which encourages the use of minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, LGBT-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned and historically underutilized business,” this diversification helps organizations build strategic relationships with suppliers and provides benefits in several areas, stretching from cost savings to talent management.

As a certified VOB, TLC Associates is added to the NVBDC Veteran Owner Certification System national database, where other VOBs and corporations who place emphasis on using diverse suppliers can access.
