Tanager Place achieves national accreditation

Tanager Place

Tanager Place has achieved national accreditation from the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). The four-year accreditation distinguishes Tanager Place as a licensed organization that implements international best practices in the field of human services according to a release.

“This accreditation speaks to the passion, commitment and dedication each employee brings to the organization each and every day. It is a validation of our mission and how we execute on that mission to meet the needs of young people and families,” said Okpara Rice, Tanager Place CEO.

COA accreditation is an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance and assures that Tanager Place’s services are well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented, and are provided by a skilled and supported workforce. To achieve COA accreditation, Tanager Place first provided written evidence of compliance with the COA standards.

Thereafter, a group of specially trained Peer Reviewers confirmed adherence to these standards during a series of on-site interviews with trustees, staff and clients. COA evaluated all aspects of Tanager Place’s programs, services, management, and administration.
