Some University of Iowa men’s and women’s basketball players will deliver Meals on Wheels throughout the holiday season.

Horizons, A Family Service Alliance, the parent agency for Meals on Wheels of Johnson County, is working with The Swarm Collective, the organization unofficially handling name, image, and likeness opportunities for Iowa’s basketball and football student-athletes.

Monika Czinano, Gabbie Marshall, Connor McCaffery and Payton Sandfort are some of the athletes expected to bring warm meals to select Iowa City and Coralville Meals on Wheels clients. Daily Meals on Wheels service to older adult clients provides access to healthy, nutritious meals and allows them to age safely in their homes longer.

The athletes will meet at Meals on Wheels of Johnson County’s offices at 2210 Ninth Ave., Suite One in Coralville, where Johnson County Community Development Coordinator Hannah Helms will give them an overview of the process before sending them on routes throughout the community. The teams will deliver meals on Nov. 22, Nov. 30, and Dec. 14.
