The Summer Gallery Walk returns to downtown Iowa City from 5-8 p.m. June 3 during the Iowa Arts Festival.

This free event is open to the community to take a self-guided tour of 20 different shops, galleries and other locations. Each participating location will have curated featured artists and their artwork.

Attendees can start at any of the locations, bring their Gallery Walk map or pick one up at any of the locations and begin a tour of art. The presenting artists may be at the locations giving demonstrations, selling their work or available to discuss their process and explain the meaning behind their work.

Attendees can visit seven of the 20 venues during the Summer Gallery Walk for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from Fortuna Board Game Cafe. In order to qualify, participants will have their Gallery Walk postcard or map stamped at each location visited. Completed cards may be dropped off at any participating venue for a chance to win the drawing.

Artists interested in showcasing their work at a future Gallery Walk event can contact the Iowa City Downtown District to be added to the artist registry. Email Christopher@downtowniowacity.com to learn more.
