Who are your mentors: Jeff Disterhoft (president, University of Iowa Community Credit Union) and Tom Lepic (owner, Lepic-Kroeger Realtors) 

Best advice you ever received: The best advice I ever received was to don’t worry about the things you can’t change, change the things you can.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you: Most people would be surprised to learn that I grew up on a farm and helped my family farm 1,500 acres.

How do you ensure a balance between work and your personal life: I ensure a balance between work and personal life by focusing on my family when I am home and planning for fun family events as much as possible.

What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career: I wish I would’ve known earlier in my career that nobody is perfect, you’re going to make mistakes; stay humble and learn from your mistakes.

What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace: For my generation, people should know that, although we have a desire for success, we recognize the older generations bring valuable experience and insight for us to leverage.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support: I would give  portions to Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids and the Make a Wish Foundation.

What is your biggest passion: Helping business owners in the community find ways to have success and providing the financial resources they may need.
