The 2026 Women of Influence are a group of remarkably accomplished individuals. They are leaders who are striving for greatness — not only for themselves, but for their organizations and communities.

The Women of Influence awards recognize women who have made a difference in the Corridor as role models and leaders in their fields and communities. Nominated by those who have witnessed their impact firsthand, and chosen by a committee of past honorees, this year’s Women of Influence honorees are just as inspiring as their predecessors.

A consistent theme can be found across this year’s honoree profiles: a commitment to building up the people and communities around them through mentorship, volunteerism, or a willingness to take on the hard work others might shy away from.

“Any influence that I have is a result of others investing their time and trust in me,” said Karmen Wilhelm, chief marketing officer at Van Meter. “I’m always making sure I’m paying it forward and putting others in positions where they can be successful.”

“For me, it’s more about how I show up on a daily basis, to make people feel supported, to create an environment where people can grow, be innovative and have a little fun,” said Kelly Dybvig, associate vice president of organizational development at UFG Insurance.

Through philanthropy, place-making, mentorship and resilience, the 2026 Women of Influence are shaping the future of the Corridor.

In addition to recognizing the 10 Women of Influence, the CBJ also recognizes one Emerging Woman of Influence. This award identifies one up-and-coming female leader who has not only achieved career success and recognition within her peer group, but is poised to take on a larger community-wide role.

This year’s Emerging Woman of Influence is Sarah Blais, executive director of the Iowa Ceramics and Glass Studio in Cedar Rapids, where she works to make the arts accessible to all while supporting professional artists, educators, and the next generation of creative leaders.

The CBJ will host the 2026 Women of Influence awards from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Hotel at Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. Tickets are available for this event, which includes networking, dinner and remarks from the winners.
