What would most people be surprised to learn about you?

  1. When I was younger, I wanted to become a marine biologist. This is still my dream.
  2. I don’t have it all together. A couple of years ago I was preparing to go on maternity leave with my second child and was struggling in a variety of ways. Fortunately, I worked at a company that offered an Employee Assistance Program and I took advantage of the opportunity to visit a counselor. Together we walked through some intense sessions about my current state and goals for the future. This person helped me discover a light and passion I knew was always there – my desire to work in a social service role. It is odd when I receive comments on how organized I am, how much I accomplish and how “easy” I make things look. I will be the first to share this is not an accurate snapshot of my daily life. One of my leaders pointed out, “vulnerability is a gift you give to others.” Let it be known by everyone … I take great pride in the messy days!

What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why?

Hands down I believe the greatest challenge we’re facing is the impact humans are having on Earth. Specifically, the increase of carbon dioxide levels. Our planet is a fragile resource that we must proactively protect.

What are your passions outside of the workplace?

On a regular basis I strive for “Straight Fs,” a short list of spaces I focus my energy toward: Faith, Fit, Family and Friends, Fun, For the Cause, Financial and Founder. A few examples in my Fun space are reading, traveling, cartwheels and chocolate.
