Humpal Chiropractic in North Liberty is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 3 to celebrate its new location. The public is invited to the 4:30 p.m. ceremony at 1210 Jordan St. in North Liberty. As part of the celebration, the clinic will be offering 25% off massages and free 15-minute movement screenings from a chiropractor or massage therapist. Mike Humpal, owner of the clinic and a former linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, started the clinic six years ago with a passion to help prevent and treat spinal and extremity injuries after he suffered a neck injury during his sports career.

“We work really closely with a lot of NCAA athletes that are trying to elevate their performance and increase overall how their body moves, how they feel, to elevate their performance,” said Mr. Humpal. “So we try to be more proactive than reactive as far as that goes.” He noted that he would also like to reach out to public service personnel, whose jobs are often physically taxing. Construction on the 3,500 square foot building began in June, and the clinic was functional by July. The clinic added a digital x-ray, new treatment tables and hired a physical therapist and a third chiropractor.  Additional information about services offered can be found at the Humpal Chiropractic Clinic website.
