Cedar Rapids-based Rayser Holdings has acquired Memorials by Michel — a monument company based in Solon — expanding the company’s Midwest Memorials brand.
Memorials by Michel has served families throughout the Johnson and Linn County communities for decades. The company will continue serving the Corridor while joining Des Moines Winterset Memorials under the Midwest Memorials brand umbrella, according to a news release.
The two companies share a focus on compassionate service, local relationships, and handcrafted quality in the memorial and monument industry. Memorials by Michel will keep its public-facing name as it becomes part of Rayser Holdings’ employee-owned community.
Families and customers in the Corridor communities can expect the same thoughtful service and commitment to quality that Memorials by Michel has long provided.
The acquisition reflects Rayser Holdings’ continued commitment to growth through businesses rooted in their communities and aligned with employee ownership. As part of Rayser’s Employee Owned Community, Memorials by Michel joins a portfolio built around shared responsibility, long-term thinking, and service to customers across Iowa.
“Memorials by Michel has a meaningful history of serving families in the Corridor, and we are honored to welcome them into the Rayser Holdings community,” said Michelle Jensen, President and CEO, Rayser Holdings. “This acquisition allows us to strengthen Midwest Memorials while continuing to support the local relationships and personal care that matter so much in this work. As an employee-owned company, we are proud to grow in a way that invests in people, communities, and the future we are building together.”
Rayser Holdings was established in 2018 to diversify and enhance employee ownership. Rayser’s portfolio comprises CarePro Health Services, Midwest Memorials, and J-TEC Associates. Rayser looks forward to welcoming future organizations that will enhance the portfolio. To learn more about Rayser Holdings, visit rayserholdings.com.
