Timberline Manufacturing, based in Marion, has announced the appointment of Randy Walter as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately.
The company conducted an extensive search after Tom Pientok announced his plans to retire as CEO, and Mr. Walter was selected as the next CEO through the process.
“This marks a significant milestone in our company’s journey,” said Timberline board of directors chair Mike Gassmann. “We are confident that under Randy’s leadership, we will continue to thrive and achieve new heights of success.”
Mr. Walter brings a wealth of senior leadership experience in manufacturing and distribution companies. He joined Timberline in 2021 as chief financial officer, and during his tenure, Mr. Walter has been responsible for several financial, operational, and strategic enhancements.
Prior to joining Timberline, Mr. Walter served in C-level positions at mid-sized to large multi-national companies in public, private and employee-owned structures, including his role as chief financial officer for Apache, Inc. from 2012 to 2018.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to lead Timberline,” Mr. Walter said. “We have an amazing group of employee-owners who are passionate about the company and the customers we serve. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tom for his leadership and mentorship. I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
In his new role, Mr. Walter will lead Timberline in continuing to deliver exceptional service to customers, enhancing operational efficiency, and exploring new market opportunities. Under his leadership, Timberline expects to further solidify its position as a leading contract manufacturer in the electronics and electro-mechanical segments.
Mr. Walter is a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
