The city of North Liberty announced it will now participate in the United Way of Johnson and Washington County’s joint funding application for social service agencies.
This streamlined process enables agencies to apply for funding from multiple sources – including United Way, Johnson County, and the cities of Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty – through a single application, according to a release.
Agencies must use United Way’s grant portal, eCImpact, to apply by the deadline of Oct. 15. Funding will be awarded on a two-year cycle. For inquiries about North Liberty’s grants, contact Tracey Mulcahey at tmulcahey@northlibertyiowa.org.
In the current fiscal year, North Liberty awarded $170,000 to local agencies through its grant program:
- $5,000 to 4Cs Community Coordinated Child Care for a childcare workforce development program
- $13,000 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters for mentor recruitment
- $15,000 to CommUnity Crisis Services & Food Bank for a housing security program
- $13,300 to the Domestic Violence Intervention Program for sexual violence victim-survivor support
- $3,200 to Girls on the Run of Eastern Iowa for North Liberty program support
- $10,000 to Horizons for its Meals on Wheels program for local seniors
- $10,000 to Houses into Homes to support a operations director
- $20,000 to the Housing Trust Fund of Johnson County for home-owner housing rehabilitation and the revolving loan fund
- $7,500 to the Friends of the Center for senior-focused programs and services in North Liberty
- $1,500 to Iowa City Sober Living for transitional housing for women in recovery
- $10,000 to the Iowa City Free Medical & Dental Clinic for clinic services for uninsured residents
- $5,000 to Iowa Legal Aid for family stabilization
- $1,500 to Iowa LEAP for math tutoring and student supports
- $28,000 to the North Liberty Community Pantry for operations
- $1,000 to Safe Families for Children for family support, stabilization and child abuse prevention
- $10,000 to Shelter House for its emergency shelter
- $9,000 to Table to Table for its food distribution program
- $2,000 to TRAIL of Johnson County for tools and resources for active independent senior adults
- $5,000 to United Action for Youth for youth development and mental health services
