Best advice you ever received?

Don’t simply teach your learners but explore with them.

What do you consider your biggest break so far?

Finding a job that combines my passions for teaching, adolescent medicine and mental well-being into a seamless daily adventure.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you?

That I enjoy a good scare. A spooky ‘80s movie on a dark October night is my idea of chill.

What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why?

I think the biggest issue facing Corridor youth is the stigma associated with mental health care. Demystifying mental health is a large part of my role.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?

Mental health care access for area youth would be top of my list. I think I would be cutting a large check to United Action for Youth to increase their mental health capacity.

What are your passions outside of the workplace?

I enjoy comics, cards and cocktails. The husband and I are father to two fur babies named Archer (black lab/border collie rescue mix) and Bender (Shetland sheepdog).

What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50?

Significantly increased mental health access for area youth.
