The Meth-Wick Community in Cedar Rapids has announced the appointment of Kathy Horan as its new chief executive officer.
Ms. Horan was chosen for the position following a comprehensive search process, according to a news release.
Ms. Horan succeeds current president and CEO Robin Mixdorf, who announced her retirement in July 2023, effective March 31, 2024. Ms. Mixdorf has served in the role since joining Meth-Wick in 1999.
Ms. Horan brings a distinguished background and a wealth of experience to the chief executive officer role, closely aligning with the Meth-Wick Community’s values and mission.
Currently serving as the president and CEO of AbbeHealth Inc., an affiliate of UnityPoint Health, Ms. Horan has demonstrated leadership in behavioral health and aging services within the local community. Her skills in cultivating relationships, fostering collaborative partnerships and serving as an engaging leader have earned her recognition and admiration.
Actively engaged in the local community, Ms. Horan has contributed her time to organizations such as the Catherine McAuley Center, Linn County Public Health, Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and the American Heart Association. She also serves on the LeadingAge Iowa Board of Directors.
